This plant is in the lily family and produces blue spiked flowers and grass-like leaves. It is more tolerant of shade and drought than the common camas and also more competitive.
A perennial herb that develops from an underground corm. Its basal leaves are bright green and up to 8" in length. The flowers are golden-yellow and appear alone on a leafless, unbranched stem.
A small native bulb with mottled purple/brown and green flowers. It blooms in early spring and is found in grassy areas and the fringes of woodland shade.
